About Me:
After graduating from Tirana University in Albania,
branch of Journalism, I had been employed for many
years as a Television journalist in Albania. Since
1992, I have lived in New York City, NY, USA. My first
book, "Kafe Shkodra e Nju Jorkut", is a collection of
short stories describing life of an immigrant woman in
New York. "Children of Kosova - Stories of Horror" is
my second book. This chronicles the experiences of
Kosovar children as they were forced from their
homeland.
My third book, "Fundjave nė Hillsajd", is my second
collection of short stories. It goes one step further
than "Kafe Shkodra" has done. "Fundjave nė Hillsajd"
deals not only with the attempts of new immigrants
towards adjusting to a new reality. This book goes
deeper into American life. There are also stories of
life in Albania.
"Kafe Shkodra e Nju Jorkut" and my third book,
Fundjave ne Hillsajd, are written in Albanian language.
"Children of Kosova" is available in English and
Albanian.
In the year 2000, I started to write poetry. I enjoy
writing poetry and I have also gotten positive
responses from my readers. This has inspired me to
compile my poetry into a book called "Poezi" - Blerta
Tirana. I loved my pseudonym, Blerta Tirana, which
reminds me of the city where I grew up. My readers
have also become attached to Blerta Tirana, which
enticed me to publish my poetry book under that name.

My most recent book is A Journey Into American
History "Udhėtim nė Historinė Amerikane" written
in Albanian language. This book received excellent
reviews from distinguished Albanian-American
professors in USA, as well as well known journalists
in America and Europe, some of which you will find on
my home page. My purpose was to help new immigrants to
learn American history, the history of the country
where they will spend the rest of their lives, in an
easy and interesting way.

boton me shpenzimet e saj Antologjine me poezi te te
rinjve ne mergim me titull "Zera Nga Larg" Albana M
Lifschin eshte autorja e librit te mirenjohur "Children
Of Kosova - Stories of Horror" (anglisht dhe shqip) ku
pershkruhet tragjedia e Kosoves nen kendveshtrimin e
femijeve kosovare. Libri eshte konsideruar si nji
dokumentar i tragjedise kosovare . Aty shihet egersia
njerezore kunder qenjeve njerezore qe nuk kane te
njejten kombesi, besim, ose bindje politike.' Libri u
vleresua jo vetem nga komuniteti shqiptar por nga
Bordi i Edukimit i Nju Jorkut i cili e aprovoi si
tekst shkollor per studimet sociale, per klasat e
